A Painting A Day
Watercolor to share peace, freedom and joy
I started this process to keep creative forces flowing. I first received little 5x5" samples of watercolor papers from a company that wanted me to try theirs. So, I have used most of them for paintings, and in this way, these and the Morning Brush Hour™ paintings have made some of my work accessible to more people, which is what I always want! To share my calling with as many people as possible. To share the peace, freedom and joy that comes to me when I paint.
No matter what gift or talent we've been born with, we MUST use it. It is our calling. It's what we have been gifted by the Divine to do with this life we have. Musicians, painters, writers, architects, actors, artisans, crafters, and chefs, all of us are here to share and to share bravely. To use our voices and speak into one another's lives. To fill each other with what we know, what we are learning, and even what we don't know; what remains a mystery, what we find ourselves parsing over and over again to try to understand. Even if we share those things that can't be answered, we share them and thereby relieve the load we might be carrying on our own.
There is no other way to create community. We are here for each other. In a world that in many ways wants to separate us, divide and conquer, we are given the gifts to create something better. Real community. Real connection. The togetherness that fills and sustains us; the lasting growth, and real meaning for our lives. I hope what I've shared through my art so far has done something good for someone. I hope I can continue to share it. While speaking into my own life, it continues to speak to others. That somehow, even if I never meet you, that the pebble in the pond spreads far and wide.. Watercolor.
